You probably have heard the terms Primal, Paleo, Caveman diet, but what is that exactly?

Primal/Paleo is a simple dietary lifestyle that is based on foods being either in or out.

In are the Paleolithic Era foods that we ate prior to agriculture (meat, fish, shellfish, eggs, tree nuts, vegetables, roots, fruit, berries, mushrooms, etc.)

Out are the foods that result from agriculture (grains, most dairy, beans/legumes, sugar and fake foods).

A great many of us consume the SAD diet (Standard America Diet) Aside from all the “fake” foods we ingest, even the foods we view “healthy” are making us sick and overweight. About 40 years ago the government implemented the food pyramid structure being grain based and low-fat.

This has caused us to have an artificial “sugar & carbohydrate” reliant metabolism. This sugar reliant metabolism is wreaking havoc on our delicate hormonal functions. This way of eating creates excess insulin, which is toxic! Excess insulin is the underlying root cause of many of our chronic illness such as diabetes, high blood-pressure, heart disease, obesity, inflammatory conditions and more. We were not genetically born to live with this “sugar” metabolism.

This is what our food pyramid should look like. Eating this way stimulates the “fat burning” metabolism we were genetically born with. Optimal brain and body function is achieved through eating the way our genes are designed to express.
